02/23/07 - After falling apart and nearly four
years of non-interest and distain, the SCBG may once again be an active
functioning club. There has been significant radio traffic as of
late. It would seem that the Old Hands are craving a little Big
Gun combat. A membership meeting has been called including as many
of the Old Hands as possible. There is no central command as of
yet, so current details are a bit sketchy. A meeting could
possibly take place on March 11, 2007. This site will be updated
as information becomes available and substantiated. If all goes
well, the waters of Prado Dam will once again be the conquest of the
Axis High Seas Fleet. 10/22/03 - Sad news as Captains Mel and Mike
Hitchcock decide to take a leave of absence from the mighty Axis fleet
and the South Coast Battle Group. During Mike's absence, Barry
Irick will take over duties as Axis HQ Webmaster so that this site can
continue it's efforts.
Apparently world leaders have signed treaties as no naval battles have
occurred during the last few months. This will give the Mighty
axis fleet time to prepare for it's inevitable conquest of Prado Dam.
Details will be forthcoming as soon as Barry gets settled into his new
office. 04/27/03 - An Axis light cruiser squadron
suffered minor losses due to a lack of heavy units for protection
against greater Allied fleet strength. An Allied destroyer was
captured and conscripted into the Axis navy, however the crew may have
overthrown the small guard contingent onboard as this ship was witnessed
acting against the best interests of the Axis Navy. This turn of
events helped sway the battle in favor of the Allies. In addition,
scattered reports of Allied ships attacking Axis merchant ships were
received over the radio, however none of the reports can be
substantiated.
The Axis High Seas Fleet Headquarters is expected to issue orders for an
accelerated building program schedule in the near future. This
should replenish the Axis fleet strength to a level greater than Allied
shipyards can maintain. In the mean time, Axis captains will
continue to succeed with the ships they have. 10/02/02 - Axis repair crews have succeeded in
their endeavor to restore Prado Dam. Our glorious fleet will soon
be prowling the waters again. If the scurvy Allies should dare
show themselves, a smashing defeat awaits them. Fleet Headquarters
expects this to be an easy victory due to the latest intelligence
reports. It is clear from aerial photographs that Allied shipyards
have squandered this time by crying in their milk rather than repairing
and updating their shorted-out rust buckets. When asked if they
are concerned about a renewed and vigorous Allied campaign, Axis
captains are known to give a knowing wink and a good chuckle. 08/18/02 - Allied saboteurs have really done
it this time. They somehow managed to blow a strategic part of
Prado Dam allowing a partial drainage of the pond. This partial
drainage was a bit of a mystery at first, until it was realized that
they were trying to save the fish they have come to know so well
during their many trips to the bottom. See the
August 2002
photo gallery for visual confirmation. Apparently, the Allies
theorize that they can't loose if there's no water to fight on.
Axis captains need not worry. A body of water suitable for combat
will be located shortly. Our glorious campaign will continue.
07/21/02 - Weeds have once again raised their nasty hands to
disrupt normal battle routine. Fortunately, they had little effect
on Axis skipper's desire and ability to sink Allied ships.
Granted, the rate of sinking Allied ships fell somewhat from it's normal
assembly line routine. This reduced rate of sinking has
prompted Fleet Headquarters to keep a closer watch on known Allied
saboteurs, suggesting that this may be the result of Allied subterfuge
gone awry.
04/21/02 - The mighty Axis Fleet has once
again crushed the Allied forces. While the Allied forces did
manage to field more ships this battle it only served to give the Axis
captains more targets to practice gunnery skills with. While
the Allied Captains were able to score some damaging hits on un-armed
and un-escorted Axis cargo ships, they failed to sink a single one or
even break up a convoy. In fact, their only real success came when
Allied saboteurs successfully kidnapped the Axis HQ photographer in a
vain attempt to keep the world from seeing their failures first hand.
Anyone possessing photos of the fleet engagements of
April 2002 are hereby requested to submit them to Fleet HQ so that these
events may be properly documented.
04/03/02 - AXIS spies have learned that the
totally demoralized Allies have cancelled their "maneuvering practice"
event. Apparently, this lack-luster group of sorry skippers have
lost all hope of mustering a worthy contest for the far superior Axis
Fleet.
03/31/02 - The AXIS fleet web site is under development.
03/17/02 - AXIS forces rule the waters of Prado.
